Working from home

Yeah I know, this topic has been beat to death on the internet but I just found an article over on my favorite radio site about a group called Welathy Affiliates and thought I would share it.

The guy that runs the cb-radio.siterubix.com web page works from home allowing him to be a full time stay at home dad while earning an income. he has been loggging some of his progress as he works his way through the training material and starts earning an income. The nice part about this group is apparently it doesnt actually cost anything to join to start learning the methods used to make monay, allowing you to prove to yourself whether affiliate marketing is right for you or not.

If you do decide to join once you have proven to yourself that the methods actually work and they aren't out to get your money, you can choose to join the premium group and learn even MORE ways to make an income online. This sounds like a good deal to me, since I dont have to put out any money at all until I know that the group works and I am going to make money with this.

You can read the article HERE.

If you just want to go directly to the Wealthy Affiliates site here is the link.

Cobra 2000GTL CB base radio

After a few days of working on the Cobra 2000 GTL base station i think i finally have the radio back under control. Was able to remove the channel modification that put it up above the regular CB channels, and put the original crystal back in its original place back on the board.
It was an easy fix, since all that had been done was and extra crystal holder had been put in place of the tone control. This holder had 3 crystals in it. One thing that was done very poorly was that they had left the tone control inside just hanging with a little black tape around it. After the tone control was put back into place i also made the clarifier control locked again, so it couldn't go in between channels. Once i tuned it down to regular power output of 5W i was getting very good reports and the audio was nice and strong without being overmodulated.

Now all that is left to do is an alignment and to replace a few lights. The meters are also stuck in one position so will have to figure that out as well.

Time to get to work and make some money.

Using the Hygain TH3jr and DX'ing

My friend over at cb-radio.siterubix just posted an article about DX'ing with a Hygain TH3jr beam antenna against the Solarcon A99. Although the Solarcon A99 antenna is a decent antenna for 10M and 11M use, it still doesn not compare to having a beam up in the air. The onyl thing i dont like about beams personally is when im chasing dx across a band. i like to have an omni-directional antenna at least until i stumble across a good dx station. Then i can always switch over to the beam. You can read his article HERE.

Anonymous and 10,000 sites. What you need to know

Just saw a link on another web site, that the Amazon servers, and most of the sites that are hosted by them, have been brought own by the anonymous group. Dont know if this is true or not just yet, but find it interesting nonetheless. Anonymous has threatened to do this in the past, so it was only a matter or time.

Seattle police department violence

Heard about this story awhile back, where the Seattle police officer slammed this guy into a wall. Strange part is, the story was dropped locally pretty fast, after getting just a few seconds of media attention. The guy that was injured is STILL in a coma.

Justin Beiber, and the missing laptop

Been following this story for the last couple of days over on BuzzFeed, about Justin Beiber's laptop being stolen, and then receiving Twits about the information on the laptop being released to the public. Now it turns out that it was just a publicity stunt to draw more attention to him, as a promotional stunt. Even though i find it irritating, i have to admit that it DID work. After all, here i am blogging about the news story, even though i have never heard any of his music, nor cared too. This has made him a household name, even if only temporary.
...  And in strange news, saw this  story today over at Digg, about a giant eyeball that was found on Pompano  beach in Florida. At this time, scientists are unsure of what sort of sea creature it may have come from, but are narrowing down the results.
Kinda creepy looking isnt it ?

Turning lemons into lemonade

here i sit, pondering all the different aspects of my life, and I cant help but wonder if turning bad things, such as character flaws, into good things, could be considered a god given gift. i have never been a bible thumper, by any means. i honestly believe that somewhere along the line, we the people got something seriously wrong. I am not saying that i am an atheist, just that I am not sure who or what the correct way to god may be. That is a subject best suited for it's OWN article.

What I am talking about here, is character flaws. Such as my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which i use to my advantage as much as possible. I have the ability to stick my head into something, and just absolutely go NUTS with it. Do I whine, and cry, thinking that I need medication and years of psychological counseling, or do i just go with the flow. I like to tackle things, and will not give up until I have figured out some way to solve the problem.

Lately i have been writing a lot of articles over at Street-Articles, a site that allows you to publish articles, and give you exposure, while getting your articles into the search engines, all for free. it is a great service, that you can use to be seen, and found through the different search engines. I have one article on their that continues to be rejected, even though at one time it was approved. At first, i was pissed, thinking that if they accepted it once, they surely should accept it again.  After butting heads with the moderators, and reposting the article twice a day, now my articles are being looked at almost right away, as before it would take at least 24 hours. So, turning lemons into lemonade, I now get my articles looked at and either accepted or rejected within the hour. if you look at it that way, it is a good thing. So now, from this point forward, whenever I submit an article, it should only take an hour or more to be accepted, and put out their for the world to see. How great is that.

What I am saying here, is that if you have character flaws, whatever they may be, try to find a way to use them to your advantage, and see what becomes of it.

Finally Saturday

What a nice day it has turned out to be so far. Got to sleep in, cuddle up with my sweets, and just got out of the shower, feeling great and refreshed. I plan on doing very little today, other than posting to my Blog a bit, and maybe some housework. I also may play on the radio a bit, but hope that I dont get sucked into an all day thing with it.
I also have another antenna I need to put back up, if time allows. The 80M dipole came down int he last storm we had, but it is still intact, just need to shoot some line up in the tree, and pull the antenna back up mainly, no big deal. Then I can start doing some Morse code (CW) on 80M at night again, and making worldwide contacts on that band in the evenings afer the other bands shut down for the night.
Also hope to make some more contacts with the SKCC (Straight Key Century Club) group this weekend. They are an excellent group, that help to promote morse code, and keep it active on the ham bands. They are very active, and their is always someone on, to make a new contact with. They have over 5K members worldwide, so every country is represented.
Thats about it here. I may, or may not, be blogging some more this weekend, as I dont want to get stuck in work mode all weekend, and it is very easy for me to lose track of time when I am working on this. Have a great weekend

In the office: money making methods

In the office: money making methods: Hello again, and thank you for reading this. In my last blog, i had mentioned inboxdollars and sendearnings , as online survey sites. One ...

pursuit of online happiness

As we pursue our on-line careers, looking at each offer with scrutiny, and wondering if this time, the offer could possibly be legitimate, the levels of frustration can become increasingly over the top. It is unbelievable, just how good an offer can seem at first glance. So i thought, i would offer a few tidbits of information that may or may not help as you look at each offer.

1. if the offer seem's to good to be true, it probably is. As I have scoured the Internet, looking at a lot of these, the first thing I always look at, is the amount of money that can be made. If the offer is anything more than 20-50 a week, it is probably a scam.

2. Buy my amazing wealth generating method to generate revenue. Come on, really ? If they are offering to sell you their plan, then that is probably how they generated income in the first place, by selling you and others their surefire plan to make money. People always want to believe in pipe dreams, and are will to drop 19.95 for a sure and easy way. More than likely, it is a scam.

3. One note, about Wealthy Affiliates. Even though it is a very expensive group to be a part of, if you search around the Internet, you can find most of their techniques, and follow the methods they use, to start generating a small income. So far the methods I have tried work, although I am not a part of their group, and I have not made as much as if I were part, and had access to all the resources available to members.

4. On-line surveys. Most of the on-line survey sites require you to sign up for offers, and use your credit/ debit card to complete the offers, which you then cancel a few days later. You have to be extremely careful though, because if you miss a deadline, you get charged the full price for the item. Sites such as inboxPays use this method. I don't agree with this method, and choose not to use it, although if you keep good records, and watch the offers, you can actually generate money that way. I use inboxdollars and sendearnings exclusively, and although I only make a part-time income (30-60 a day), they are legitimate sites. I read read all the emails, complete the surveys and do the tasks, which if your smart, you can power through pretty quickly.

Well, that is all I have for today, hope that helps, and if you find anything that you fell would be interesting to look at, or want me to research for you, be sure to drop me a note.

 Thanks for reading, Theron

Anonymous after Facebook, again ?

Here it is, several months later after the story of the hacker group Anonymous hacking, or blocking facebook going viral, and I am once again starting to see stories arise out of the internet, of the grop going after facebook again. I do not even remember, back in the beginning of Nov 2011, if they were ever succesful in blocking or hacking facebook. Anyone remember the outcome of that story ?
You have to wonder, for what reason would the hacker group go after Facebook in the first place, when it is comprised of the so called 1% in the first place, and are the main users, what purpose it would serve. If the group Anonymous (capitalized out of fear) really wanted to make a difference, maybe it could hack the Facebook servers, and give everyone free access to the paid services, instead of ultimately hurting the very people it is trying to protect. Yes, Facebook does sell your information to data mining services, that is how it generates revenue. Most people at this point know that going in though. So how would you expect an entity as big as Facebook to pay for all the services, that are free for us to use. Remember, it is a FREE service after all. I dont think that I am SO important, that i really have to worry about terrorists, the Government (same thing, depending on your angle) or hackers to find my information so important, that they are clammering over one another to get to my poor credit rating in the first place.
Now if they were to take my pics and crop nude bodies to my head, that would be something else.

Thanks for all the fish

Well, it has been a while since i have wrote anything original on this blog, so I thought i would pop in and say hello, and catch all of you up current happenings around the Ranch.

1. It's almost beer time.

As a lot of you know, I have been trying my hand at homebrewing my own beer. Not only to try new flavors, but also to save a few bucks. I have been experimenting around with different methods, and playing with the recipes some to enhance the flavor. One thing that has made a spectacular difference, is moving the keg to a warmer area in the house. We put the last batch, and Oatmeal Stout, up above the stove, in a warmer area, and it has made a big difference in the brew so far. I have had the keg up above the stove now for over 2 weeks, and it is ready to bottle. It has a dark, rich color and it smell's like real beer. The next step is to bottle the brew, and let it sit for another 2 weeks. I will also be adding 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar to the bottle, to help with the fermenting. In 2 weeks we should have a very good sipping beer, to sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy.

2. Getting the Blog going.

As you obviously know, I have been maintaining a daily Blog over at Theron dot com. This has been a real learning experience for me, as I learn to drive traffic to my site, without pissing too many people off, while monetizing it for profit. The advertisements, constantly spamming the URL, and writing on popular subjects has turned into a full time income. I hope that in 6 months to a year, this Blog can be a source of income for me, and all my efforts will have paid off, as I entertain the masses with my sharp wit and commentary. So far, the biggest drive to my site has been when I posted an article about the recent events in Forks, with the young lady that was stabbed. Apparently some people didnt find a lot of humor in me posting funny pictures of the suspect, although percentage wise, only abt 2% out of 250 people didnt like it. Still, it did get a lot of exposure, and brought my hit count up.

3. Setup my office.

I found a really great deal on Craigslist a few weeks back, on an oversize desk, that had my name written all over it (not literally). I had to drive to Sequim to get it, so it turned into a half-day project for us, but it was worth all the effort. This desk has the top space for my office, as well as room for packaging things that I sell on Ebay.

4. Speaking of E-bay

I have also been clearing a lot of space out of the front living room, by seeling the items on ebay. This has turned out to be a good moneymaker for me. With just a little effort, and starting cost, it has now turned  into  a part time income for me. I have been really pleased with this effort, and it feels kind of nice to be able to put money into teri's bank account for a change, to help us thru the lean times of the month. The most frustrating part, is waiting for the money to clear from E-bay into my PayPal, and then having to wait another 3-4 days for it to transfer into my bank account. all in all, it seems 2 be taking about 2 weeks from the time I sell an item, until it hits my bank, and I can withdraw it.

Well, that is about it really, not much more going on. We are just the four of us now, which makes teri extremely happy, and we are cutting back expenses as much as possible, even being a bit "anal" about it at times. Things like shutting down computers at night, or when you leave the room for an extended period, shutting off lights and TV's at night, running the heating system a bit lower at 62d instead of 68-70d, shutting the heat off during the day, keeping doors closed etc etc. We have even thought about partitioning the house off a bit, so that we dont have to heat such a large area at once, but not sure how we could do that without itt looking tacky.
